Design Intent
Souq Al-Baraha, is located at Diyar Al Muharraq, Northwest of Muharraq Island.
The Souq aims to re-create a traditional Bahraini market streetscape through the organization of building blocks around courtyards – a common feature prevalent in traditional Islamic Architecture while evoking the history of Bahrain as a center for trade and fishing.
The Souq is anticipated to have public facilities, a mosque and over 500 retail shops, which include a family entertainment center, a gold souq, A fish and meat market, a fruits and vegetables market, as well as shops that sell antiques, spices, sweets.
